Police seek witnesses after cyclist dies following New Plymouth crash.

A cyclist was killed in a collision in New Plymouth six days ago but New Zealand Police have failed to nab the culprit till now. Now, investigators are requesting the public's help in finding out the details of the accident

The tragedy took place at the intersection of Powderham Street and Mount Edgcumbe Street on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at around 12:35 PM. After a rapid response from emergency personnel, the cyclist was taken to the hospital.

However, he passed away from his wounds on Tuesday (April 15) despite medical efforts. According to reports, the rider was carrying fishing equipment when the accident occurred.


Investigators are currently searching for witnesses who were nearby when the collision occurred. Any dashcam footage that could help in reconstructing the events leading up to the incident is of interest to them.
