This moment marked Lizzo's third appearance on the iconic late-night sketch comedy show. Actor Jon Hamm served as the host for this particular episode. Lizzo's previous engagement on the show was on December 17, 2022, as the musical guest.


Prior to that, she held the dual role of host and musical guest on April 16, 2022. Her debut on the program was as a musical guest on December 21, 2019.

Lizzo, who boasts an impressive four Grammy Awards from nineteen nominations, has a history of using her platform to express her views.

These actions follow commentary where she sarcastically questioned if rising costs, using expensive eggs and baby gear as examples, were making the country safer or stronger, or aiding in a "war on penguins."
