Moscow welcomes visa-free travel regime for Russians in Serbia
Moscow welcomed Belgrade's decision to abolish visa requirements for Russian citizens travelling to Serbia, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said.

MOSCOW: Moscow welcomed Belgrade's decision to abolish visa requirements for Russian citizens travelling to Serbia, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said.
"Without waiting for the agreement on mutual trips of citizens, which envisages a visa-free travel regime for up to 90 days, to be signed, the government of Serbia has made the decision to allow Russian citizens to enter the country without visas," he said Saturday, adding, "Without any additional conditions, including those provided for in the draft agreement."
"We welcome this step," the diplomat said. "We believe it will facilitate the development of traditionally friendly relations between our states, provide broader opportunities for trade and economic cooperation, scientific, sport and youth exchanges, strengthen cultural and spiritual ties, and simplify communication between the citizens of Russia and Serbia," Kamynin said.
"For our part, acting within the framework of effective legislation, we will seek to create as favourable conditions for entry into the Russian Federation for the citizens of Serbia as possible," he added.
The introduction of a visa-free travel regime for Russians in Serbia is a natural and positive development of bilateral relations, the Serbian embassy in Moscow told Itar-Tass earlier Saturday.
"The unilateral cancellation by Belgrade's of visa requirements for Russian was an expected step designed to facilitate cooperation between the two countries and expand interaction in the energy, economic, and cultural spheres," the embassy said.
