Lloyds bank posts 3.124 billion pound loss in first half
Britain's state-controlled Lloyds Banking Group posted on Wednesday a net loss of 3.124 billion pounds (3.7 billion euros, 5.3 billion dollars) for the first half of the year.
"Our first half loss was driven by the high levels of impairment. The core business delivered a resilient performance, despite the weak economy," group chief executive Eric Daniels said in a statement.
