Korean Air Lines Co said on Monday said it will buy three more Airbus A380 passenger jets, which will be delivered between 2012 and 2013, bringing its total order of A380s to eight.

SEOUL: Korean Air Lines Co said on Monday said it will buy three more Airbus A380 passenger jets, which will be delivered between 2012 and 2013, bringing its total order of A380s to eight.

Korean Air has already ordered five double-decker A380s, the world's biggest commercial jet, which will be delivered by Airbus between 2010 and 2013.

"With the eight A380s, we will provide premium services on international routes to New York, Los Angeles and Paris starting 2010," Korean Air said in a statement.

The carrier, South Korea's largest, did not say how much it would pay for the three A380s.

The A380 is capable of carrying 853 passengers in an all-economy class configuration, although most carriers will most likely lay out cabins with fewer seats to accomodate a business class or suites.
