SEOUL: South Korea's main flag carrier Korean Air on Wednesday launched a regular cargo flight service to Uzbekistan, with a regular passenger service also due on the route to the central Asian state.

B747-400 cargo planes began operating the three-times-a-week flight linking South Korea's Incheon airport to Uzbekistan's Navoi airport and Italy's Milan airport, the company said in a statement.

B777-200 passenger planes are also ready to launch a separate regular passenger flight service three times a week from September 2 connecting Incheon with Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, it added.

Korean Air said it also finalised a deal with state-run Uzbekistan Airways to build a logistics centre at Navoi airport and expand business cooperation.
