Japan is willing to allow highly skilled foreign doctors to practice in the without the country's medical licence.

KOBE: Japan is willing to allow highly skilled foreign doctors to practice in the country without the country's medical licence.

"Foreign doctors are required to take the examination in Japan for medical practitioners, but it is disrespectful for worldwide-level doctors," National policy minister Yoshito Sengoku told reporters today.

"I want to remove such a system," he said. The possible deregulation in the medical field is expected to be initially introduced in certain areas and designated medical facilities, and Sengoku apparently aims to include the proposal in the government's growth strategy to be compiled in June.
