Japan economy 'not in bad condition': Aso

Japan's economy is not in a bad state despite being affected by the global turmoil, Japanese PM Taro Aso said.

BEIJING: Japan's economy is not in a bad state despite being affected by the global financial turmoil, Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso told reporters here Friday.

"The Japanese economy is not in a bad condition," he said on the sidelines of a meeting of Asian and European leaders in Beijing.

"It is affected by the world downturn which could lead to a decline in exports and declines in the stock market."
