J N Godrej named EuroIndia co-president

Godrej and Boyce Chairman J N Godrej takes over as EuroIndia Centre co-president.

NEW DELHI: Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd Chairman Jamshyd N Godrej has taken over as the co-president of EuroIndia Centre.

The EuroIndia Centre was founded in 2001 as a non-profit association by the then leader of opposition Manmohan Singh and M Raymond Barre, former French Prime Minister, CII said in a release on Thursday.

The centre aims to bring forge business ties between Europeans and Indians.

Godrej took over the charge from Anand Mahindra and his unanimous election took place on June 9 during the annual general meeting of the centre held in La Rochelle in France.

Godrej will join Colette Mathur, Senior Adviser World Economic Forum, for South-Asian Affairs, who continues to co-chair the centre from European side, the chamber said in a release.

Jamshyd N Godrej and Colette Mathur will jointly preside over the next EuroIndia Forum at Goa that will be dedicated to Euro-Indian co-operation in the urban renewal field on April 3-5, 2008, with CII as its associate partner.
