Italy's unemployment rate shot up above 10 percent in March and hit 10.2 percent in April as the eurozone's third largest economy struggles with a recession.

MILAN: Italy's unemployment rate shot up above 10 percent in March and hit 10.2 percent in April as the eurozone's third largest economy struggles with a recession, official figures showed Friday.

The national institute of statistics revised up its estimate of the unemployment rate for March from 9.8 percent to 10.1 percent.
