Irish bailout 'around 85 billion euros': France

PARIS: The international bailout for debt-ridden Ireland will likely be worth around 85 billion euros, France's budget minister Francois Baroin said Wednesday.

The bail-out "has not yet been completely finalised but it will be around 85 billion euros (114 billion dollars)," Baroin told reporters after a cabinet meeting.

Beleaguered Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen was Wednesday due to present a four-year austerity plan, a key step towards securing the bailout from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
