IATA forecasts 2010 airline losses to reach $3.8 bn

Industry association IATA forecast that airlines would lose $3.8 billion in 2010 after having already lost $11 billion in 2009.

GENEVA: Industry association IATA on Tuesday forecast that airlines would lose $3.8 billion in 2010 after having already lost $11 billion in 2009.

"The losses will continue, we (expect) that at this moment, losses of 3.8 billion dollars" for 2010, said Giovanni Bisignani, director-general of the International Air Transport Association.
