Hughes sees Man City buyout completed by Friday

Manchester City's takeover by UAE investors will be completed by Friday, manager Mark Hughes predicted Wednesday.

LONDON: Manchester City's takeover by UAE investors will be completed by Friday, manager Mark Hughes predicted Wednesday.

The Abu Dhabi United Group has been going through the club's accounts since agreeing a deal worth more than 200 million pounds ($360 million; euro247 million) to end Thaksin Shinawatra's brief 14-month reign.

``I think the takeover will be completed in a matter of days. It may be sorted out by the time we get back,'' Hughes said ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup match at Cypriot side AC Omonia.

The group is backed by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of Abu Dhabi's royal family.
