GM stock declines slightly at opening bell

General Motors stock dipped slightly just after the opening bell at the start of its first full week of trading on Monday.

DETROIT: General Motors stock dipped slightly just after the opening bell at the start of its first full week of trading on Monday.

Stock in the Detroit automaker fell 10 cents to $34.16 as trading began on the New York Stock Exchange. GM pulled off an initial public offering worth $15.8 billion on Thursday. The US government and other owners of the company sold 478 million shares at $33 each in a deal worth $15.8 billion.

On Friday, GM stock fell $1.08 shortly after the opening bell to $33.11 as investors sold to lock in profits. But it rebounded by the end of the day to climb 7 cents over Thursday's close to $34.26.
