Ben Affleck has spoken about his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, acknowledging their different approaches to fame. In an interview with People magazine, Affleck said Lopez has "handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly" than he has.

"My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers," Affleck said. "As happens in relationships, you don't always have the same attitude towards these things."

Affleck on their 2024 documentary

Affleck also addressed their documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which was released in 2024. He said his involvement was to present an honest account of their relationship.


Many fans speculated that Affleck appeared unhappy in the documentary, but he clarified his intentions. "I thought it was an interesting examination," he said. "You don't marry a ship captain and then say, 'Well, I don't like going out in the water.' You've got to own what you knew going into any relationship."

Divorce finalized in early 2025

Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, and it was finalized in January 2025. The court officially declared both of them single six weeks later.

Affleck expresses respect for LopezDespite their separation, Affleck shared his admiration for Lopez. "I have nothing but respect for her as a person," he said.
