The complaints escalated rapidly after remaining largely flat over the previous 24 hours. Reports on Downdetector jumped from 336 at 7:32 pm to 968 by 7:35 pm, pointing to a sudden, short-lived disruption affecting the platform.
The outage was not limited to one region. According to Reuters, users in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom also reported widespread issues with the platform. The disruption began around 9 am ET and peaked at more than 25,000 user reports in the US before easing to around 620 reports. In Canada, complaints dropped to about 30 after topping 3,400 earlier in the day, while the UK saw reports decline after exceeding 9,000.
Service on X appeared to be restored shortly afterwards, with users subsequently able to access the platform normally.
Downdetector aggregates incident reports submitted by users and other sources and notes that the number of reports does not necessarily reflect the total number of affected users.
