According to People.com, Williams admitted to restraining the boy’s hands and ankles with handcuffs as punishment for not picking up the dog’s waste. She was reportedly in the process of tying him to a chair when he fell, triggering a savage attack by a pit bull owned by the homeowner, Robert Michalski Jr. The dog tore into the child's throat, leaving deep lacerations that nearly killed him.
During sentencing, Ashland County Common Pleas Court Judge Dave Stimpert said Williams allowed her son to be treated like a “chew toy.” Photos submitted to the court showed bruising around the boy’s eyes and horrific wounds on his neck. “That dog tried to rip out his throat,” Judge Stimpert remarked, calling the injuries nearly indescribable.
Court documents obtained by People revealed that Williams pleaded guilty in May to multiple charges, including kidnapping, obstruction of justice, possession of criminal tools, and four counts of child endangerment. She has been in custody since August 2024 and will receive credit for 361 days already served.
The horrifying details emerged during her initial court appearances. Prosecutors said Williams took her two children—a 6-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter—to Savannah, Ohio, where she used handcuffs and ropes as disciplinary tools. At one point, she even posted a photo of her restrained daughter on social media.
Appearing in court via video, Williams claimed she didn’t know handcuffing her children was illegal, telling the judge, “I feel like the dog's not even my dog, the cuffs aren't even my cuffs… I really didn’t mean any harm.” She said her uncle told her it was acceptable to use restraints.
The pit bull’s owner, Robert Michalski Jr., fled the scene with the dog after the attack in an apparent attempt to prevent the animal from being taken away. He, along with another man—Taylor Marvin-Brown, identified by prosecutors as Williams’ lover—has been convicted on related charges and is awaiting sentencing later this month.
Miraculously, the young boy survived and, along with his sister, is now in the custody of a legal guardian and receiving proper care and protection.
Williams will serve her sentence at the Ohio State Reformatory for Women.
