Jolie bought the historic Cecil B. DeMille mansion in Los Feliz back in 2017 for a reported $24.5 million. The 11,000-square-foot property boasts six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, but sources suggest she is ready to let it go as part of her long-term relocation plans.
Why Jolie Stayed in Los Angeles
The actress has long hinted that living in Los Angeles was never her preference. In an earlier conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, she admitted she was based in the city only because of her divorce and custody arrangements with former husband Brad Pitt.“I never wanted to live in L.A. full time,” she said. “That humanity I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”
Now that Jolie and Pitt’s divorce was finalized in December, the actress is no longer tied to Los Angeles. She reportedly intends to move abroad once her youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 next year. The former couple share six children in total.
Hollywood Stars Choosing Life Abroad
Jolie’s potential move follows a growing trend of U.S. celebrities settling overseas. Jimmy Kimmel recently obtained Italian citizenship, while Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi relocated to the English countryside in the Cotswolds.
