The Bidens were expected to travel to central California, specifically Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara County, for personal time following the inauguration, according to three administration officials who spoke to NBC News. “the Bidens would travel by presidential aircraft to California to spend time in Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara County,” Senior White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell reported.
They stayed at a private residence, the same location they used after the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Plans could change, officials noted, and their permanent residence after leaving the White House remains undetermined. Possible locations include their homes in Rehobeth Beach and Wilmington, Delaware.
