All smokescreen: Vivek Ramaswamy had predicted Joe Biden to pardon his son Hunter
President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden for federal tax and gun convictions, preventing any reversal by the incoming administration. Vivek Ramaswamy predicted this move. Hunter faced charges for illegally buying and possessing a gun whil...

"Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter," the president stated. This action contradicts previous White House statements that a pardon would not be granted.
Vivek Ramaswamy, co-chief of DOGE, correctly predicted the pardon. When Hunter Biden was convicted in June on three firearms-related felonies, Ramaswamy asserted the trial was a "smokescreen."
Earlier, Ramaswamy had in a tweet said: "The Hunter Biden trial is a smoke screen. It’s designed to make the prosecution of Trump appear nonpartisan, yet the outcome of the Hunter trial doesn’t matter because Joe Biden can & will pardon him. The trial’s timing is no coincidence: right after the Trump conviction, but set to finish before Joe Biden leaves the White House."
His prediction of a pardon before Biden left office proved accurate.
President Biden had the power to halt the investigation or request the Justice Department dismiss the charges but did not intervene until issuing the pardon.
Hunter Biden's convictions stemmed from illegally buying and possessing a gun while using drugs. He also pleaded guilty to nine tax offenses related to failing to pay taxes while spending money on various personal expenses.
