Walmart heiress sisters Nancy Walton Laurie and Ann Walton Kroenke live vastly different billionaire lifestyles. Nancy Walton Laurie owns the $300 million superyachtKaos, while Ann Walton Kroenke shares the massive Waggoner Ranch in Texas, spanning 510,527 acres—about 13 times the size of Washington, DC.

Nancy Walton Laurie has built a profile around art, philanthropy and luxury at sea, while Ann Walton Kroenke's fortune is reflected in one of America's most enormous private ranches.
Laurie is known for Kaos, her estimated $300 million superyacht that cruises around the Mediterranean. Her older sister, Kroenke, shares ownership of something far larger on land: the 510,527-acre Waggoner Ranch in Texas, one of the biggest ranching properties in the US.

Ann Walton Kroenke’s massive Texas ranch
The Waggoner Ranch stretches across six Texas counties and is the largest ranch enclosed by a single fence. Its 510,527 acres are roughly 13 times the size of Washington, DC.The property includes lakes, oil wells, cattle, horses, wildlife, private roads and cowboy camps and also has a historic cattle brand dating back to 1849.

The ranch is also a working agricultural operation. As many as 14,000 cattle graze across the property, while between 25,000 and 30,000 acres are used for farmland.
Because of its enormous size, helicopters have been used during cattle roundups. Ranch pilot David Brocklehurst reportedly spent two years learning the terrain before becoming familiar enough with the vast property to help manage the operations.
A private world hidden behind fences
Unlike a superyacht that can be spotted in major ports, the Waggoner Ranch is largely out of public view. The property has a 1,400-acre private family lake, fishing ponds and miles of private roads. It has also welcomed famous visitors over the years, including Theodore Roosevelt, Will Rogers, Bob Hope and Dwight Eisenhower.ALSO READ: Social Security September 2026 payments: Millions of Americans to receive direct deposit in their bank accounts soon. Nancy Walton Laurie’s $300 million Kaos
Nancy Walton Laurie, meanwhile, has taken a very different approach to luxury. Her superyacht Kaos measures about 110 metres and is estimated to be worth around $300 million. Built by Dutch shipyard Oceanco, the yacht can accommodate up to 30 guests across 15 suites.
Its features include a swimming pool, spa, helipad, cinema, aquarium and extensive marble and stone finishes. The yacht also has a distinctive London Bar featuring smoke machines, a DJ booth and a water-wall chandelier.
Kaos has also attracted controversy
The yacht has received considerably more public attention than the secluded Texas ranch. In July 2023, climate activists spray-painted Kaos while it was docked in Barcelona, leaving the message, "You consume, others suffer."Two months later, activists targeted the vessel again with biodegradable red paint and displayed a banner saying, "Billionaires should not exist."

The yacht has continued sailing around Spain and has sometimes been accompanied by its 67-metre support vessel, Kalm.
Two Walton sisters, two symbols of extreme wealth
Laurie and Kroenke inherited their fortunes through their father, James "Bud" Walton, the younger brother and business partner of Walmart co-founder Sam Walton. After Bud Walton died in 1995, his Walmart stake passed to his two daughters.Since then, their lifestyles have taken very different forms.
Nancy Walton Laurie has built a profile around art, philanthropy and luxury at sea, while Ann Walton Kroenke's fortune is reflected in one of America's most enormous private ranches.
One sister has a 110-metre yacht worth about $300 million. The other has access to a 510,527-acre Texas ranch — showing just how differently the Walton family's vast wealth can be enjoyed.
