A Secret Service agent, who was tasked to protect former US President Barack Obama, allegedly brought his girlfriend to Obama's beach house in Hawaii.
The incident came to light after the agent's former girlfriend, Koryeah Dwanyen, released her memoir titled "Undercover Heartbreak: a Memoir of Trust and Trauma" on October 28, reported Abc news.
Dwanyen reportedly claimed that the agent, identified only as "Dale," invited her to the Obamas' beachfront property in 2022 while the former president and his family were away. According to the book, he had sent her "several photos" of the house a week earlier and suggested a tour.
Dwanyen claims the agent told her, "No one will know. If anything, I’m the one who could get in trouble.” She also alleges that he suggested they "have sex in Michelle [Obama]’s bathroom."
Following these alleged security breaches, the Secret Service launched an internal investigation. Dwanyen claimed that she participated in a four-hour interview with the agency's Office of Professional Responsibility.
The memoir's release has added to scrutiny surrounding the Secret Service, which has faced significant criticism since a security breach in July when a gunman attempted to assassinate then-presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. That incident led to the agency director’s removal, with the Department of Homeland Security describing it as a “historic security failure.”
