US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the United States was "not finished at all" with Iran and warned that Washington could soon target the underground nuclear facility known as Pickaxe Mountain.

Speaking to reporters during a White House meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Trump said the site could be the next target of US military action.

"We'll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily," Trump said, adding that he would not normally announce targets but "there's not a thing they can do about it."

Trump also said the damage caused by the ongoing conflict would take Iran decades to recover from.

"If we left right now, it would take Iran 20, 25 years to rebuild. Okay, and we're not finished at all...we're not leaving right now."

His remarks came as Iran expanded its attacks across the Middle East on Tuesday, with strikes reported in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, two weeks after the conflict between the United States and Iran resumed.
