Rumours on social media surrounding US President Donald Trump's health are going on for quite sometime now. X has been buzzing with a bizarre phrase "Trump is dead" and this hashtag snowballed into a viral storm which drew speculation about his health.

This comes amid Trump's hands have been stealing the spotlight lately, and bruises were noticed during recent public appearances, and the pictures quickly went viral. The first dark mark showed up on his right hand earlier this summer, covered with makeup, only fueled more curiosity. Then, just weeks later, a new bruise popped up on his left hand while he was golfing, raising even more questions.

However, the White House has tried to downplay these remarks saying that they are not alarming, and are just the result of frequent handshakes and Trump’s daily aspirin use, which makes bruising easier.

Did Trump's niece raise alarm on his health?

Earlier this month, President's niece claimed that Trump is displaying clear signs of "mental decline" as mounting evidence suggests he's "losing it every day," reports Mirror UK. Mary Trump, the daughter of Donald's older brother Fred Trump Jr, took to YouTube to detail her uncle's health in a video titled "Trump DECLINES RAPIDLY as Behavior RAISES CONCERNS." She listed the key signs pointing to the US President's supposed cognitive decline, including a bizarre impromptu press conference he carried out on the White House roof on Tuesday, as well as his announcing of a strange plan to build a nuclear reactor on the moon.

Her video came after the White House confirmed Trump was suffering from a chronic venous insufficiency - a vein condition that leaves him with swollen ankles and constant bruising. But Mary claims he is also suffering major cognitive decline, the report said. She said: "We've all become used to the fact that every time Donald stumbles, rambles, forgets people's names, wanders off the stage, or just pulls made-up facts out of thin air, in other words, lies, people on the right pass it off as if these are just fun little quirks of their dear leader and not the fact that every single day Donald Trump appears to be losing it."

"I don't think we really needed much more evidence that Donald is in cognitive decline and clearly emotional and psychological decline, but we have more now," she added.

She said Trump could even be displaying symptoms of a specific type of dementia. "He is deteriorating cognitively. He is deteriorating psychologically. Could it be something like fronttotemporal demention? Could it simply be cognitive decline due to his advanced age and very poor physical health?," she asked.

"Again, not mutually exclusive and I'm not saying it's one thing or another because I don't have access to him, but I'm a human being who observes things and nobody nobody who's telling the truth would say that any of this is normal or acceptable."

What JD Vance said on President's health

The phrase "Trump is dead" became a trend days after Vance was asked in an exclusive interview with USA Today on August 27 if he was prepared to step into the role of commander in chief, should a "terrible tragedy" strike. Stressing that the 79-year-old was fit and energetic, Vance said that unforeseen events could not be ruled out.

"He's the last person making phone calls at night, and he's the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning," Vance told USA Today. He added, "Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people. And if, God forbid, there's a terrible tragedy, I can't think of better on-the-job training than what I've gotten over the last 200 days."
