Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged! The American pop legend shared their happy news in a joint post on social media.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," they said, alongside a TNT emoji. In one snap, Taylor was seen crying as she hugged her now fiancée. The couple got engaged after two years of dating and the couple shared the news on the Instagram. In the pictures, the two feature a close-up shot of her stunning sparkler in an enchanted garden.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship timeline

Taylor and Travis started dating in the summer of 2023 and have had fans predicting a possible proposal from Kelce for years. Taylor and Travis met a few years back after he made his feelings known on the New Heights podcast. They’ve been going strong since, with multiple public appearances, PDA moments, and date nights. They made their relationship public later that year.

Swift previously confirmed that they started dating shortly after Kelce mentioned her on his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, in July 2023. At the time, he talked about his failed attempt to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his number on it at her Kansas City Eras Tour stop.

In August 2024, NFL insider Adam Schefter made headlines after hinting that the couple might be walking down the aisle, a playful moment that quickly went viral on “NFL Live.”

During the segment, host Laura Rutledge brought up Kelce’s splashy new move — buying into a 3-year-old racehorse named after the pop star — jokingly dubbing it a “major purchase.”

On his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, he later dished out the details about his real motives for attending the gig. The American footballer had planned to pass Taylor his phone number via a friendship bracelet, only to find out she avoids talking pre and post-concerts to preserve her vocal cords. Fortunately, he got a second shot at winning her over when Taylor heard of his bold gesture.

Engagement rumours

The rumours of their engagement had been doing rounds on social media for quite sometime now. But a source told Daily Mail in May, “Everyone is just waiting for Travis to ask her parents for her hand in marriage, her parents will say yes, and they can't wait for them to get engaged. Nothing seems to be imminent, but it will 100 percent happen. Taylor and Travis are treating this relationship as their last relationship, and when they get engaged, when they get married and when they start a family, it will be exactly when it is meant to happen.”

In December, while speaking about Travis, Taylor had said, "saying they have nothing to hide when it comes to their relationship. "When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care," she said. "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

The couple have, for the most part, kept each other off of their individual social media pages, with the exception of a few viral posts that gave their followers a glimpse into their relationship. Swift posted a photo in 2024 with Kelce when the couple met Prince William and his three children, who attended her concert in London, and in July, Kelce shared a carousel of photos of the couple showcasing how they spent their summer together during his off season. Both posts, respectively, marked the first time that Swift and Kelce posted photos of each other on their Instagram pages.
