A decomposing body has been found in dumped in a Tesla reportedly registered to popular New York-born singer D4vd. The body was found several days after it was abandoned at a Los Angeles tow yard, reports New York Post.

Workers at Hollywood Tow reported a strong odor coming from the vehicle. LAPD officers opened the front trunk and found a body in a bag, police said. Video from NewsChopper4 showed the vehicle, a Tesla, surrounded by yellow police tape.

The Los Angeles Police is investigating the gruesome discovery of the body found inside an impounded Tesla at a tow yard in Hollywood. Officers responded to the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a foul odor coming from an impounded vehicle, according to LAPD.


According to police, the impounded car had been at the property for a couple of days, and that the body had been placed inside a bag. There's no immediate information about the identity of the person found inside the Tesla.

Body found inside abandoned Tesla

The 2023 Tesla is registered to David Anthony Burke, the 20-year-old Queens-born artist known as D4vd, ABC7 reported. The identity of the victim wasn’t immediately known.

The human remains were found stashed inside a bag in the Tesla’s front trunk, police said. The car, which boasts Texas license plates, had been at the lot for roughly five days, according to investigators. "We were notified this morning and the car's been here for a couple of days," Capt. Robert Peters told NBC.

D4vd is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday as part of his "Withered" world tour that began last month. The tour stops in Los Angeles on September 20. Eyewitness News has learned that the 2023 Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

In that time, D4vd has been sharing routine posts with his 2 million followers on Instagram. He is currently on tour and has a show in Minneapolis scheduled for Tuesday night, with a Los Angeles stop slated for later this month.

Who is singer D4VD?

David Anthony Burke (born March 28, 2005), known professionally as d4vd (pronounced David), is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known for his songs "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me", both of which experienced international chart success.

Burke began making music at his mother's recommendation to avoid receiving copyright strikes on his YouTube videos. In 2022, he released the singles "Here with Me" and "Romantic Homicide", which became viral hits on TikTok and led to his signing with Darkroom and Interscope Records.

Alongside a string of releases in 2023, Burke released two extended plays, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, the former charting in five regions. In 2024, Burke released five singles, including his third single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, "Feel It".
