US President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting Prince Harry, the self-exiled British royal despite ongoing litigation questioning the Duke of Sussex's immigration status. Trump thinks Harry has a lot of problems with his wife Meghan Markle. Trump did not like Harry and Meghan's exit from the royal family as Trump's allegiance lies with the late Queen who Trump said liked him.

Harry's immigration status is the subject of litigation of Washington DC, with the Heritage Foundation alleging that he may have concealed past illegal drug use that should have disqualified him from obtaining a US visa.

Trump won't deport Prince Harry

Trump told the New York Post on Friday that he isn’t interested in throwing Harry out of the country. “I don’t want to do that,” he said.

“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.” Trump said he would not pursue the case against Prince Harry.

Trump also took the opportunity to praise Harry’s estranged older brother William. Trump met William privately in Paris in December during the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral. “I think William is a great young man,” he said.

What is the case against Prince Harry?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and re-located to Los Angeles. Prince Harry in his memoir 'Spare' had admitted to have taken drugs like cocaine, cannabis and psychedelics in the past. After this, questions were raised whether he mentioned this in his visa application or if he lied in his visa application because he should have been disqualified from getting a US visa.

“Anyone who applies to the United States has to be truthful on their application, and it is not clear that is the case with Prince Harry,” Heritage’s Nile Gardiner told the London Daily Telegraph.

Heritage Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security forcing to release Prince Harry's visa records. Harry won the case as the judge ruled that his visa records won't be released but it was apprehended that Donald Trump would pursue the case.

Meghan Markle does not like Trump

The Duke of Sussex and his liberal American wife Meghan Markle have voiced disapproval of Trump over the years, including one outburst in which the Duchess called the president “divisive” and “misogynistic.”

Trump in turn has described Harry as “whipped” by Markle. “I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose.” Meghan Markle does not like President Trump and the feeling is mutual as Trump also, in pas, spoke negatively about Meghan. In 2022, Trump said he thinks Harry is "whipped". "I'm not a fan of Meghan, I'm not a fan, and I wasn't right from the beginning. I think poor Harry is being led around by his nose," Trump said at that time.
