Pokémon Legends: Z-A new gameplay video features Mega Hawlucha: Launch date for Nintendo Switch 2 revealed

The Pokémon Company has announced Mega Hawlucha, which will debut in Pokémon Legends Z-A. The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak have released a new gameplay video for Pokémon Legends: Z-A that features a new Mega Pokémon - Mega Hawlucha.

The new trailer revealing Mega Hawlucha shows the regular version of the wrestling Pokemon struggling in the ring with Machamp. Originally teased in a wrestling match-style poster with Machamp, a new trailer has shown off the Mega Evolved form of the Pokémon.

What is Hawlucha?

Hawlucha was originally discovered in the Kalos region, and now this Fighting- and Flying-type Pokémon is ready to prove there’s even more to its showboating style, according to its official website. The newest Pokémon Legends: Z-A trailer unleashes the Wrestling Pokémon in full Mega-Evolved glory—showcasing its rippling chest, devastating Flying Press, and unstoppable presence.

Powered up by Mega Evolution, Mega Hawlucha isn’t just a spectacle of strength; it shrugs off blows with ease and thrives on the roar of the crowd. Brimming with confidence, it puts on a show mid-battle before squaring off in the ultimate Fighting-type clash of legends: Hawlucha versus Machamp.

Hawlucha’s new Mega Evolution sports more than just a striking black-and-gold mask—it also comes with a matching collar that wraps around its neck and shoulders. The design makes the feathers cascading down its back resemble a flowing cape, perfectly fitting for a Pokémon that blends the worlds of pro wrestling and superhero flair. With this transformation, Mega Hawlucha stands as an even stronger embodiment of both personas, as per The Gamer.

This marks the third Mega Evolution design revealed in the lead-up to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a game that will bring Mega Evolution roaring back into the spotlight. The first reveal, Mega Dragonite, sparked mixed reactions—many fans weren’t impressed with a design that essentially slapped an extra pair of wings onto its head and little else.
