When Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for his role in “A Real Pain,” he used his speech to bring up a little family matter. Yes, you read that right. After winning the Academy Award for best supporting actor in “A Real Pain,” Kieran Culkin made sure to remind his wife Jazz of a promise she had once made.
Culkin turns his speech into plea for 4th kid from wife
Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor at the 2025 Oscars on Sunday for his role in Jesse Eisenberg’s movie “A Real Pain” — and used his acceptance speech to hold his wife to a promise over having more children. The “Succession” star, 42, kissed his wife Jazz Charton, 36, before taking the stage and delivering an acceptance speech after his name was called at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.ALSO READ: Adrien Brody takes gum out of mouth, tosses it to girlfriend before winning best actor at Oscars. “I wanna really, I love you, Jazz. This is, I have to thank my wife, Jazz, for absolutely everything, for giving me my favorite people in the world,” Culkin said.
“This is — please don’t play the music because I want to tell a really quick story about Jazz,” he continued before wrapping his speech.
“About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award, I would, she would give me the kid. It turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was gonna win, but then people came up to her and were like, you know, really annoying her, I think, I think it got to her, but anyway.”
“After the show, we’re walking through a parking lot, she’s holding the Emmy, we’re trying to find a car. Emily, you were there, so you’re a witness, and she goes, ‘Oh God, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid,’ and I turned to her and I said, ‘Really I want four.’ And she turned to me, I swear to God this happened, it was just over a year ago, she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’ I held my hand out, she shook it and I have not brought it up once until just now," Culkin added.

“You remember that, honey? You do? Then, I just have this to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith. No pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get crackin’ on those kids. What do you say? I love you!” he said.
The audience erupted in laughter as Culkin turned to his wife in the crowd."Then I just have to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith -- no pressure," he joked.
"I love you. I'm really sorry I did this again. And let's get cracking on those kids. What do you say? I love you. I love. I love you."
The actor and Charton, who have been married since 2013, currently share two children together.
Culkin's praise for Jeremy Strong
Culkin was also censored in his speech when he shouted out out his former “Succession” co-star and fellow category nominee Jeremy Strong.ALSO READ: Did Biden’s furious call with Zelensky set the stage for Trump’s massive Oval Office showdown? All details
“Jeremy, you’re amazing in ‘The Apprentice.’ I love your work, it’s f–king great,” he said as he was bleeped.
As he mentioned, Culkin asked his wife to have a third child when he won the Emmy award for “Succession” in January 2024.
“Thank you for sharing your life with me and giving me two amazing kids, Kinsey Sioux and Wilder Wolf. I love you so many and so much. And Jazz, I want more,” he said at the time.
“You said! You said, ‘Maybe,’ if I win! I love you so much,” Culkin added as he walked off the Emmys stage.
