Laura Loomer is a far-right influencer and a close ally of US President Donald Trump and has been flexing her influence with the White House as she racks up policy and personnel wins from the outside. Once dismissed as a fringe agitator, Laura Loomer has become a figure with surprising influence in Donald Trump’s second presidency. Though she has no government title, she holds considerable influence to shape decisions taken in the Trump administration.

Laura Loomer describes herself as 'Islamaphobe' and also as a “loyalty enforcer” for Trump’s Maga movement. The State Department announced in a post on X on Saturday that it would halt all visitor visas for individuals from Gaza as it reviews the process that allows them to temporarily enter the US for medical and humanitarian reasons.

Far-right Trump ally Laura Loomer has taken credit for the pause in the visas following her claims that the families arriving from Gaza “threaten our national security.” Loomer specifically criticized HEAL Palestine, an American nonprofit dedicated to providing critical aid to Palestinian families, including bringing kids suffering from severe injuries, psychological trauma and malnourishment to receive care in the US.

Loomer ranted for a day how Palestinians have been entering the country via a humanitarian organization through various airports. Loomer questioned how so many Palestinians were getting visa from the State Department.

"The Palestinians traveled from Gaza to the US with the help of a group called 'Heal Palestine'. How did Palestinians get visas under the Trump administration to get into the United States? Did @StateDept approve this? How did they get out of Gaza? Is @SecRubio aware of this?" Loomer ranted.

Recently, she expressed an opinion on X about why Gazans are becoming pregnant during war, without food, in communal tents. She suggested they hope to obtain visas from the US State Department to have anchor babies.

Her political controversies

Laura Loomer accompanied Trump in 2023 during his 9/11 anniversary visits in Pennsylvania and New York. She was also seen exiting his plane in Philadelphia ahead of a high-profile debate against then–Vice President Kamala Harris. Loomer claimed she had been invited as a guest. In terms of conspiracy theories, Loomer has many, such as suggesting that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job."

Laura Loomer has faced repeated bans across major social media platforms, including Facebook and what was formerly known as Twitter, over posts condemned as racist, anti-Muslim, and anti-immigrant. Loomer has a long history of anti-Muslim activism and has previously declared herself a “proud” Islamophobe.

One of her most notorious remarks came during the 2020 presidential race, when she suggested that if then–vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris entered the White House, “it would smell like curry” and speeches would be handled by “a call center,” a comment referencing Harris’s Indian and Jamaican heritage.

Although her account was eventually reinstated on X, Loomer soon clashed with the platform’s owner, Elon Musk. The dispute centered on high-skill immigration visas, with Loomer arguing they undermine the “America First” agenda. Musk, himself an immigrant from South Africa, defended the policy, sparking a public confrontation between the two.
