Video raises questions in Kyren Lacy's crash
A shocking new video from Houma TV’s HTV reveals former LSU star Kyren Lacy was driving behind — not in front of — the vehicles in last year’s crash, contradicting the initial police narrative. The footage suggests Lacy didn’t cause the wreck, challenging what investigators originally told the public.ALSO READ: 'She ain't Mother Mary': Charlie Kirk's shocking Taylor Swift remark resurfaces after his assassination
Kyren Lacy's lawyer Mathhew Ory in an interview with HTV explained an investigative report detailing the December 2024 car accident that led to Herman Hall’s death. The investigative report stated that Lacy's vehicle was approximately 72 yards away from the incident and about 120 yards from the active cars involved in the crash.
During the HTV interview, Ory pointed to a portion in the report, attributing it to the District Attorney’s office, saying, “The evidence submitted in the crash report does not support that Kyren Lacy should have known that his actions were the cause of the crash that happened approximately 72 yards in front of him.”
Lacy was also not passing cars on the road when the crash happened, as assumed in the District Attorney’s report. A woman from the scene of the crash gave a statement to LSP however, bodycam footage obtained by Ory shows the state trooper instructing the witness to say that she had to brake harshly to dodge Lacy’s charger.
Lacy was arrested in January of 2025 on the charges of hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death, reckless operation with accident, and negligent homicide. Lacy died in April 2025 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, just a day before a grand jury hearing in the case. Louisiana police have not released a statement at this time.

Even if he wasn’t found guilty, his involvement in the crash could have seriously jeopardized his NFL career. “That is not how this story was painted. Never,” Ory said.ALSO READ: New twist in Sean Diddy's case? Rapper's 12-minute video emerges as he tries to dodge 11 years in jail over ‘freak offs’
