Everyone was thrilled after Katherine won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Dana Evans on The Pitt.
Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt) was presented the golden statuette at the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It was a special night for Katherine LaNasa and she turned emotional on stage. Katherine thanked the Academy while holding the golden statuette and shared how meaningful the honour was for her.

"Oh my goodness, I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy," she said in her speech. "My whole career I wanted to work for [producer] John Wells and he elevates everything," she was quoted as saying by PEOPLE.

After thanking the nurses who "inspired" her while making the show and her costar, "the incomparable Noah Wyle," LaNasa said, "Lastly my children for making me real, and my beautiful husband Grant Show for helping me always with everything."

Katherine LaNasa's husband in spotlight

Everyone was thrilled after Katherine won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Dana Evans on The Pitt. However, no one is prouder of her achievement than her husband, Grant Show.

Amid thanking her cast, crew, HBO Max (a.k.a. the network The Pitt airs on), Katherine couldn't help but get emotional when it came to talking about her family. And when she shouted out Grant (who famously portrayed Jake Hanson on the '90s drama Melrose Place), the camera immediately panned to him tearing up over his wife's win.

"Lastly, my children for making me a real thing," she stated toward the end of her speech in a video on X (formerly Twitter). "And my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always with everything."

Fans were quick to notice Grant's emotional reaction to Katherine's win, they too were emotional, and also a little surprised to find out the two were married. "Nice! Well-deserved win! I had no idea she was married to Grant Show," one person wrote on X. "Omg I had no clue that was his wife. ��," another penned. "Soooo happy for her!" a different follower added.

When the two spoke with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, Grant couldn't help but express his pride for Katherine. "You have no idea how proud I am," he shared in the clip. "I mean, just saying this is gonna make me cry. You know, I've watched her, and she works harder than anyone I know. I've watched her work and work and work and knock on the door and finally get recognized for what she has been doing for 35 years. It's just a real joy."

LaNasa captured hearts as the no-nonsense charge nurse Dana Evans on The Pitt. Working alongside Noah Wyle's Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, Dana runs the emergency room both with a warm heart and an iron fist.

The Pitt follows the medical professionals during a grueling shift, with each episode covering one hour of the day.

"I feel like I already won because you never un-become an Emmy-nominated actress," LaNasa told PEOPLE of her nomination. "It's really a lovely stamp of approval from your peers."

Despite being on numerous hit shows in the past, this is the LaNasa's first Emmy nomination.

"It's crazy. You stay on the sidelines for so much of your career, you don't really ever expect to be one of the nominees," LaNasa explained. "To be one is really just delightful. I feel like I got a ticket to ride and I'm happy about it."
