The mother of three was also wearing a headset and appeared to be gazing out of the aircraft's window. “Some years start with turbulence,” she wrote in a February 10 Instagram post alongside a selfie from inside a helicopter, “but that’s just the wind reminding you to spread your wings.”The flying enthusiast—who earned her helicopter license in 2016 and has since started an aerial filming production company—continued, “Good to be back in the air…Here’s to flying farther than we ever imagined.”
The post has been liked over 6,900 times and Lauren's followers were quick to comment on it too. 'You're always so beautiful and inspiring Lauren, thank you,' one person wrote.

Lauren Sanchez's outfit on Trump inauguration
While Sánchez was vague in terms of the “turbulence” she has encountered this year (and left the comments section of the post turned off), she was no stranger to critics last month after her appearance at President Donald Trump’s January 20 inauguration.During the January event in the U.S. State Capitol, the former Good Day LA morning show host—who shares kids Evan Whitesell, 18, and Ella Whitesell, 15, with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell, as well as son Nikko Gonzalez, 23, with NFL player Tony Gonzalez—donned a risqué all-white outfit, including an Alexander McQueen suit jacket over a low-cut lacy bustier, which left many viewers talking.
“Have some dignity and some respect for your setting and your circumstances,” former Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly said on her eponymous SiriusXM show following the outfit reveal. Megyn called the fashion moment 'absurd' and said people 'should be talking about the inauguration.'
Lauren learned to fly and became a pilot at the age of 40, and opened up about it in an interview with People in 2024. Referring to her childhood and her parents who owned a flight school, Lauren told Daily Mail: 'I was always around aviation. One day I told my dad, "I think I want to learn to fly." It may have been the best day of his life.'

She continued: 'I was 40 years old when this happened. My dad helped me find an instructor in California, and I remember the instructor saying, "Your dad's a pilot, your mom's a pilot. You must know a lot about aircraft."
'And I said, "The only thing I know is to stay away from the propeller," [and he goes, "OK, we have a lot of work to do here."'
Lauren eventually got her license, and soon after that, she began Black Ops Aviation, an aerial filming company.
