Is Doordash down? Americans face widespread issue, unable to order breakfast as outage hits app

Popular food and grocery delivery company DoorDash seemed to be down for thousands of users Wednesday morning in the US. According to a report in The Sun, Americans using Doordash are being confronted with order complications on Wednesday morning during the breakfast rush. According to reports, several customers have faced complications when attempting to make orders using Doordash in recent hours.

There have been thousands of reports that the DoorDash platform is down, leaving customers hungry and frustrated. According to DownDetector, users started noticing issues with the platform on Wednesday morning around 3:46 am CT. At that time, roughly 200 reports had been made against the delivery service.

Is Doordash down in US?

According to Down detector, over 5,000 users reported issue and they weren't limited to customers — as of 7:30 a.m., 71% of users were having trouble with the Dasher App, used by DoorDash drivers. Outage reports began to spike just after 4 a.m.

While drivers get a message saying, "Unable to load data," customers see a confusing error message.

"We are unable to start your dash at this time due to 'The operation couldn't be completed. (ErrorNetworking.ResponseStatusCodeError error 1.)'. Please try again later."

As the morning progressed, the number of complaints ticked upwards into the thousands.

By 7:01 am CT, when DoorDash's breakfast rush kicks off, nearly 5,500 customers had reported issues with the company's platform. Since then, the issues have been on the downtrend, with around 2,800 reports clocking in at 7:47 am CT, and just over 500 at 8:19 am CT.

The majority of complications with the DoorDash platform were related to the Dasher App, according to DownDetector, which is the mobile app that Dashers use to receive and fulfill delivery orders.

Several users took their frustration to social media. "Glad to know I'm not the only one crashing out about DoorDash being down," one user wrote. "I'm so hungry." "I'm so thirsty and finally ordered drinks and now its just.. nothing.. for an hour and a half. No updates," they wrote. "It's had 1,500 reports of problems in the last hour and on the app every store is closed and my order is stuck waiting."

DoorDash had yet to acknowledge the outage as of 7 a.m. In addition to the outage itself, users criticized the company's lack of communication. DoorDash connects consumers with restaurants, convenience stores, and other retailers via its platform through which shoppers can order food or other items.
