'If God forbid...': JD Vance ready to be next US President? His remarks amid Trump's health concerns spark buzz
US Vice President JD Vance is ready to take over as President of the United States in case a ‘terrible tragedy’ takes place. His statement comes at a time when Trump is in limelight due to his health concerns. God forbid there's a terrible tragedy...

His current role has prepared him to assume the nation's highest office if there is any "terrible tragedy", Vance said. “Yes, things can always happen,” Vance told USA Today when asked if he was prepared to step up if something happened to President Trump, who has survived two assassination attempts.
“Yes, terrible tragedies happen,” he said. “And if, God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days.”

Vance ready to take over as President?
JD Vance has said he is ready to take on the presidency “If God forbid, a terrible tragedy happens” to Donald Trump. Vance said he was “confident” President Trump would see out the rest of his term, but added he has had a lot of “on-the-job training”, insisting Trump was in “incredibly good health”, despite recent questions about the president’s physical wellbeing.Vance said: “He’s got incredible energy, and while most of the people who work around the President of the United States are younger than he is, I think we find that he actually is the last person who goes to sleep, he’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning.

“I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is gonna serve out the remainder of his term, and do great things for the American people.”
Trump's health update
Last month, the White House announced that President Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a blood circulation issue, after noticing mild swelling in his lower legs. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made the surprise disclosure while addressing conjectures about recent bruising seen on Trump’s hands. But the President's physician attributed “minor soft tissue irritation” from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.ALSO READ: Fenerbahce stuns football world by sacking Jose Mourinho: The Portuguese coach's net worth will surprise you
Vance’s comments come at a time amid concerns over Trump’s health after visible bruising was spotted on his hands. In a later appearance, the bruising appeared to be covered up by poorly-applied makeup.
"Well, I think most likely. In all fairness, he's the vice president, and I think Marco is also somebody that maybe would get together with JD in some form," Trump replied.
