Happy Gilmore 2 is a follow-up to the 1996 sports comedy Happy Gilmore and started streaming on Netflix on Thursday.

Adam Sandler's starrer Happy Gilmore 2 has received a glowing response from one of the world’s biggest pop stars. 30 years after Sandler’s iconic 1996 comedy, the belated sequel recently made its streaming debut on July 25 via Netflix. Also joining Sandler are original cast members Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller.

American pop star Taylor Swift has given her stamp of approval to Happy Gilmore 2, the series which also features her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs star delighted not just NFL fans but also Swifties after landing a cameo role in Adam Sandler’s movie Happy Gilmore 2.

In the highly anticipated sequel, the veteran tight end portrayed “The Waiter,” a fiery, over-the-top country club server turned comedic villain.

Taylor Swift on Happy Gilmore 2

Taylor Swift took to her Instagram story and urged her 280 million followers to watch the comedy movie “as soon as humanly possible.” Taylor Swift said the movie made her laugh aloud and applaud all the way through, even though she did not offer much about the narrative.

"Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible," she wrote on her Instagram story.

Happy Gilmore 2 is a follow-up to the 1996 sports comedy Happy Gilmore and started streaming on Netflix on Thursday. Travis Kelce has a humorous acting part in the movie among a star-studded cast alongside returning main character Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore 2 has been generating much buzz, and Swift's reaction only enhanced it.

Swift is not alone in singing her praises of Sandler’s return as Happy Gilmore, and despite mixed reviews, there are still many viewers expressing their joy at seeing this hockey-loving pro-golfer return to the championship circuit. Moreover, the original Happy Gilmore also received similar mixed reviews on its release and would still go on to become a cult classic.

Travis Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2

Travis Kelce posted a behind-the-scenes look from the film's production, which featured the crew and fellow cast members, including Sandler, Bad Bunny, and his father, Ed Kelce, who also had a cameo role.

Moreover, he penned a message of gratitude for being part of such an amazing movie. “Man, this life is crazy!! Still so surreal I got this opportunity. @adamsandler SANDMAN!! Thank you, brotha, for the opportunity and for giving us all Happy Gilmore 2! Everybody, go check it out right now! On @netflix.”

Adam Sandler also praised Travis at the premiere held in New York on July 21. He said, “Travis and Bunny are ridiculous in it,” praising their performances. Adam Sandler added that Kelce reminded him of his old high school friends. “Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

Adam Sandler also shared how much fun it was to work with Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny, saying he couldn’t believe they’re his “buddies now.”
