Canadians are saying no to American liquor, cancelling USA vacations after Trump said THIS in his speech
Trump's recent comments in his speech to Congress have left Canadians furious. Many have taken to social media to declare they're 'done' with American goods and holidays. Trump's decision to impose tariffs on Canada have deeply strained the relati...
"Whatever they tariff us, we tariff them," the President declared. "Whatever they tax us, we tax them." In addition to Trump's speech, the day saw the implementation of 25% tariffs on both countries.
Canada retaliated after Trump's move and slapped a 25 percent tariff on $105 billion worth of US goods, a move initially proposed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last month. This follows Trump's reaffirmed wish to annex Canada as the "51st US State". Post-negotiations with Trudeau, meanwhile, Trump posted on his Social Truth platform: "We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country."

And he went on to add: "We don't need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use, Harsh but true! ... Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada – AND NO TARIFFS!"
How Canadians reacted to it?
According to The Mirror, Canadians appear to be very angry by the President's remark and are firm about maintaining their independence from the US. Following Trump's statement, a social media account named Canada Hates Trump vented: "We are cancelling our USA vacations. We are not buying American products. We are cancelling contracts with Elon Musk. We are removing all American liquor from our shelves. We are cutting our power to states that rely on it. We stand with Ukraine. We will never be the 51st state."The post quickly went viral, garnering 3.8 million views since last night. Many, including Americans, voiced their support for Canada. One Canadian declared, "Canada stands strong against Trump's bullying! We're cutting ties, boycotting U.S. products, and supporting Ukraine. No to tariffs, no to being the 51st state – True North, free and proud!"
