'Really concerning': Massive bruise spotted on Trump's right hand, sparks frenzied speculation online

A mysterious apparent bruise was spotted on US President Donald Trump's hand after he had a series of handshake jousts with Emmanuel Macron. Trump was photographed with a large dark mark on the back of his right hand as he sat opposite Macron at the White House.

A worrying bruise on Donald Trump's hand has raised fears over his health after he was pictured engaging in a "death grip" with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Bruise noticed on Trump's hand

Trump and Macron, during their meeting at the White House, shared a series of bizarre handshakes, which body language experts said was part of their attempts to "dominate" each other and "fight their own corner" in discussions over Ukraine. However, this focus on their palms led eagle-eyed photographers to spot a huge bruise on Trump's right hand, according to The Mirror.

The bruise was seemingly attempted to be covered up with makeup, but it was still very easy to tell that his hand looked hurt. Naturally, people took to social media to speculate as to what could have caused the bruise. The picture sparked frenzied speculation on social media.

Journalist Aaron Rupar posted the image on X, commenting: "Scrolling Getty and couldn't help but notice this photo of a huge bruise on Trump's hand today." One concerned response highlighted: "He must have had this same bruise for quite a while....like weeks, because there's been a couple of other photos from about a month ago with that bruise on the same hand. But the fact it's still there, is really concerning. As in what's up with his health."

Some online commentators humorously suggested that the bruise might have resulted from Trump's handshake with Macron. However, this seems unlikely given that similar marks were seen in earlier photos, reports the Irish Star.

How did Trump get the bruise?

According to a report in The Sun, it remains unclear how the US President got the apparent bruise - and while it seems implausible that Macron's grip could have caused the injury, the two have famously loved giving each other intense handshakes.

Despite this understanding, online users are clamoring for clarity regarding Trump's health. Many are urging political correspondents in Washington DC to question Trump about his health status, with some even proposing that he should disclose his medical records.
