What do the current regulations say?
According to the current legislation, companies are requited to report on a quarterly basis, though providing forecasts is voluntary. If what Trump suggests happens, it would be a fundamental change in the way American companies do business, and more closely aligned with how public companies report results in Europe and elsewhere. The rules can be changed either from the Securities and Exchange Commission or could be altered by Congress.
