Celeste Rivas' death not natural? Investigator claims D4vd's Tesla case involves crime, casts doubt on girl's overdose

The tragic case of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas is all over the internet after her highly-decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of an abandoned Tesla linked to singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. Ever since her body has been found, online allegations have exploded with multiple people sharing unverified claims and theories, including shocking allegations that infant remains were found near his Hollywood Hills residence. Several conspiracy theories have flooded the internet despite the fact that D4vd is yet to be charged or arrested. He has not been named as a suspect or a "person of interest" in the death case of Celeste Rivas.

Among one of the theories, one of them has been floated by private investigation Steve Fischer. According to a report in TOI, Steve Fischer has been collecting details about D4vd's Tesla, where Rivas' rotting body has been found. He claimed several people connected to Celeste's family reached out to him and they said the last time they had any contact with Celeste was in July.

Did Celeste Rivas die of an overdose?

Celeste Rivas' body was discovered on September 8. She had been listed as a missing person since 2024, though Fischer claimed she had remained in contact with certain family members during that time. Celeste had previously fled what she described as a “disturbing” family environment on multiple occasions, and at first this disappearance seemed like another such episode—until it ended tragically with her death.

Steve Fischer has floated a possibility that there are no homicide charges if Celeste Rivas suffered an overdose and D4vd and his manager panicked and put her body in the car trunk. "While Manner of Death (natural, homicide, accidental, suicide, undetermined) can be ruled at anytime the Cause of Death will not be determined until the toxicology results are back which could take 60-120 days (assuming they were able to get a sample). A crime absolutely happened here, she didn't put herself in the Tesla, but it doesn't mean it's homicide automatically. If she didn't die at the hands of someone else and was placed there after the fact then it's a different crime," Steve Fischer opined.

Celeste Rivas seen running away from home?

Celeste Rivas was reportedly seen in a newly surfaced surveillance video running away from home last year. Rivas is seen in footage from a local liquor store in Lake Elsinore, Calif., that was recorded around 7 a.m. on March 19, 2024. The clip, first published Friday by TMZ, shows a girl in a black hoodie and white pants, who was identified as Celeste by her family.

The young girl is seen walking quickly down the street and jogging around a corner before disappearing from view. Elie Naddaf, the owner of Dellago Spirits, told TMZ that Rivas’ sister came to his liquor store later that day and asked to review the security tapes from that morning, confirming it was her sibling. Naddaf told the outlet that he gave the family the footage “in hopes it would help them find her.” He added that Rivas often stopped by his store for soda, chips and gum, and that he never heard about any trouble at home.

The last time her family had contact with her was in July. In January 2024, cops found Rivas in Hollywood and returned her to her family. Her disappearance from home on March 19 marked at least the second time she ran away.

Her case took a grim turn this month when her decomposed body was discovered Sept. 8 in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd. Investigators said the musician has cooperated fully, canceled tour dates and vacated the $20,000-a-month rental days after the search.

Rivas’ body was found in a severely decomposed state, which suggests she had been in the Tesla for a considerable length of time, according to law enforcement officials. Her cause of death remains undetermined.

What is Celeste Rivas' age?

D4vd's friends have stated that Celeste possessed multiple fake IDs, leading them to believe she was 19. However, Fischer emphasized that neither D4vd nor his manager, Josh Marshall, can claim ignorance in the matter. According to Fischer, Josh was informed in 2024 that Celeste had been reported missing. "I spoke with someone who alerted Josh Marshall’s team back then that Celeste was a missing teen. Shortly afterward, she returned home, only to run away again. Josh (D4vd’s manager) cannot claim he was unaware that Celeste was an underage runaway," Fischer explained.
