Blue Bell is urging anyone who purchased the affected ice cream to return it to the store for a full refund. Consuming the mispackaged ice cream could trigger severe or life-threatening allergic reactions.

There’s a Blue Bell ice cream recall underway in 16 states because of undeclared almonds, walnuts and pecans on the label of their Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream. “Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid contains undeclared almonds, walnuts, and pecans,” the company said. It added that only half-gallon containers with the lid code 061027524 are affected.
People with nut allergies risk serious reactions, including anaphylaxis, which can cause difficulty breathing, swelling, dizziness, and loss of consciousness.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported so far with Blue Bell confirming that no other packaging errors have been found. The affected ice cream was produced at the company’s Brenham plant in Texas.
It was distributed to stores in 16 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia.

What can you do?
According to the FDA, half gallons of Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream were packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough half gallon carton with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid, hence the reason why the nuts aren’t declared on the packaging. A consumer could easily pick up a package of this treat thinking that it’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, only to discover it’s actually Moo-llennium Crunch.If you think you may have one of the affected packages, look for this code on the top of the half gallon lid: 061027524.

Blue Bell has urged customers who purchased the affected ice cream to return it to the store for a full refund. The company emphasized that the recall is voluntary and is being carried out under the oversight of the FDA.
For easy identification, Blue Bell released an image of the recalled product in its official announcement. The brand also reassured customers that the recall is limited in scope and that no other Blue Bell products are impacted.
Consumers are strongly advised to check their freezers before eating any recently purchased Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.
