Barron Trump, at 18, played a pivotal role in his father's 2024 presidential campaign by advising Donald Trump

Barron Trump, the youngest son of Donald Trump and Melania Trump, proved crucial to US President's 2024 election campaign, offering insight to the Republican nominee to gain the youth vote. He notably suggested podcast media appearances for his father and helped him with his stage presence and manners, although the two are said to have had quite an interesting relationship.

The forthcoming book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return to Power by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt reveals how co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita dedicated extensive efforts to securing Trump's strong debate performance.

How Barron helped Trump in his campaign

"Barron, now a teenager, told him he flapped his gums too much last time and needed to let Biden do more of the talking,'" Isenstadt wrote.

The June 2024 presidential debate in Atlanta was a pivotal moment, marking a significant downturn in former President Joe Biden's political trajectory. While Biden's performance raised concerns, Donald Trump appeared notably more composed compared to their previous debate in Cleveland in September 2020.

"Trump listened to his son, who had begun showing interest in politics and was willing to step into the public eye after years of being shielded during the White House tenure," noted Isenstadt.

She added, "With just hours to go before the debate, aides understood that even if everything seemed under control, there was always time for someone to steer him in the wrong direction."

What Melania Trump revealed

Barron Trump, at 18, played a pivotal role in his father's 2024 presidential campaign by advising Donald Trump to engage with internet personalities and non-traditional media outlets to connect with younger audiences, New York Post reported. Melania Trump highlighted Barron's contributions during a "Fox & Friends" interview, noting his understanding of his generation's media consumption habits, which primarily involve tablets, phones, and various digital platforms.

Following Barron's advice, Donald Trump appeared on several popular podcasts, notably "The Joe Rogan Experience," where his interview garnered over 52 million views on YouTube, significantly boosting his outreach. Other appearances, such as on "This Past Weekend with Theo Von" and "Flagrant" with Andrew Schulz, amassed millions of additional views, crucially contributing to his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Despite his behind-the-scenes role, Barron remains popular among supporters and is currently a freshman at NYU's Stern School of Business.
