President Donald Trump has a two-word nickname for his youngest son, Barron Trump. Barron Trump is the lone son of Melania Trump, who has been married to Donald Trump since 2005.

The son of the President of the United States is currently a freshman at NYU in Manhattan. Barron Trump, who went to high school in Florida, rarely makes public appearances, though he did go viral at the inauguration in Washington, D.C. on January 20.

Trump's strict parenting rules for Barron

Reverend Franklin Graham has appreciated Donald Trump for his parenting prowess, after a throwback clip went viral showcasing Trump firmly guiding young son Barron - offering four rules in particular to his young son. The respected evangelist showcased the video on X, lauding the newly-inaugurated president, saying: "There's one thing we're missing – more parents being parents", reports The Irish Star.

The public is fascinated with Barron Trump, and his relationship with his parents. The footage shows Donald Trump giving instructions to his five-year-old son Barron, clad smartly in a suit, insisting on top grades and a clean lifestyle. "I want all A's. No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes and you know what else no tattoos."


The televangelist's son, Rev. Graham, reposted the CNN snippet with remarks highlighting the importance of parental guidance: "This older video from CNN shows @realDonaldTrump giving a young Barron Trump fatherly instruction before he goes off to school. That's one thing we're missing-more parents being parents."

Barron and Donald Trump are occasionally seen together. Also captured in the clip is a tender moment where Barron is shown taking a liking to his suitcase , questioning the need for school while unveiling a charming hidden talent.

In a warm motherly fashion, Melania assures the cherubic Barron that they will enjoy lunch before engaging in learning basics like "reading, writing and arithmetic." The spotlight has recently returned to the Trump family's approach to raising children, with various anecdotes and incidents coming back to the fore.

Melania opened up to Parenting.com with some personal deets, saying: "[ Donald Trump ] didn't change diapers and I am completely fine with that. It is not important to me. It's all about what works for you. It's very important to know the person you're with." She went on to clarify her stance on family duties: "And we know our roles. I didn't want him to change the diapers or put Barron to bed. I love every minute of it."

Who is Barron Trump?

Barron Trump, Donald Trump's youngest son, is a student at New York University. He enrolled in September 2024 after graduating from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, in May 2024.

Trump, born on March 20, 2006, to Donald and Melania Trump, largely remained out of the public eye during his father's political career. He attended his first campaign rally in July 2024. His mother, Melania, stated he declined to be a delegate at the Republican National Convention due to “prior commitments.”

Trump has lived in various locations due to his father’s career. He attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York City and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland after his father became president in 2017. He later attended Oxbridge Academy in Florida.

Donald Trump has commented on his son’s height, reportedly 6 feet, 7 inches. “I said you're gonna be a basketball player. He said, 'well I like soccer dad, actually,'” the former president said.

Melania Trump has emphasized Barron’s privacy. She has stated she respects his decisions, including his choice to attend NYU and live at Trump Tower. “I feel as children, we have them till they are 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them, and then we give them the wings to fly,” she said.

Trump’s birth was a surprise to his father. “He came home [one day last August], and I told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was ... at first he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy,” Melania Trump shared. Donald Trump added, “I expected we were going to have children, so I wasn’t totally surprised. But I was surprised by the speed of it. It happened very quickly.”
