Bank of America down in US? Thousands report issues amid widespread outage in LA, Chicago. How to fix login issue?

Bank of America has reported a massive possible outage on Friday, with thousands of users reporting issues, according to Downdetector.com. More than 9,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 5:12 p.m. PT, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

Users reported errors including messages saying the bank was unable to display some accounts, while others said their balances were showing amounts from previous days. The majority of reports point to issues with mobile banking.

As per Downdetector, most people were facing issues with mobile banking, and areas affected include Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Chicago. As per the site, users have been reporting issues since 7:17 pm EST.

Bank of America down?

The Bank of America outage triggered various reactions online. One person, understandably angry, commented “Bank of America needs to fix this problem expeditiously.”

Another user said, “I’m able to log in, but it warns that balances don’t include any of today’s activity and are only current up to the end of the last business day.” One customer reported that Bank of America debit and credit cards were not working in Virginia as of November 7, 6 p.m. ET.

Another person shared a message they received from the bank, which read: “Temporarily unable to display some accounts and/or latest balances. We’re working to resolve this issue quickly.”

Several users commented to the Downdetector page to express their frustrations. “Logging in shows previous days balances. Can’t transfer or Zelle,” one person said. Another added, “Balance on the mobile app is showing the previous business day and calling tells me I have a 0 balance.”

Yet another said, “hi is there an issue with the Bank of America network I keep getting a temporary network unavailable and it’s says y’all are working on it. Let me know.” Another person shared a photo of an individual sitting among cables, captioning it “Bank of America mood.”

How to fix Bank of America login issue?

Bank of America customers facing login issues can reach out to customer support through relay services by dialing 711 and keeping their account number ready. For queries about deposit accounts or accessible banking services, they can call 800-432-1000.

The bank has shared some quick steps to fix login problems. Customers can try resetting their password, especially if it has expired or doesn’t meet security requirements. Passwords must be at least eight characters long, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.

Users should also ensure they are entering the correct user ID, as sometimes it needs to be manually re-entered to fix Bank of America login issue.
