It is expected that Apple would announce a regular two Pro phones and is also likely to replace the Plus with a new and slim iPhone 17 Air model. The Air device reportedly has a thickness of 5.5 mm with a 6.6-inch screen. The ‘Awe Dropping’ invite features a radiant Apple logo surrounded by vivid blue and yellow energy waves — a possible teaser for Apple’s upcoming Liquid Glass design language debuting with iOS 26.

Apple's September 9 event: From iPhone 17 series to Airpods Pro 3
Apple is expected to unveil its complete iPhone 17 lineup, including the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model. Analysts expect Apple to release a lineup of new phones with updated processors and specs, including a new slim version that trades battery life and cameras for a light weight and design.Apple’s next iPhone lineup is expected to deliver major upgrades, especially in the camera department. The iPhone 17 could debut a sharper 24-megapixel selfie camera, doubling the resolution of the iPhone 16’s 12-megapixel front camera. The Pro models are rumored to push things even further with 8x optical zoom telephoto lenses and powerful 48-megapixel telephoto cameras—big leaps from previous generations. The base iPhone 17 is reported to have a new and bigger 6.3-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz in previous years.

All models will run on iOS 26, which introduces a new Liquid Glass design language, giving users a transparent interface option alongside the classic light and dark modes. The event is also expected to showcase new wearables. The Apple Watch Series 11 could arrive with more energy-efficient displays and the next-gen S11 chip, while the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 3 may add satellite connectivity for emergency messaging when cell service is unavailable.
Rounding things out, Apple might finally unveil the long-awaited AirPods Pro 3, tipped to include heart-rate monitoring and a charging case with an interactive touchscreen display.

While Apple’s launch events used to be held live, with executives demonstrating features on stage, since 2020 they have been pre-recorded videos. Apple said it would stream the event on its website.
