Millions of Americans who rely on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) will soon get the payments in their bank accounts. According to the official calendar of the Social Security Administration (SSA), US citizens will get the last payment for the month on Wednesday, August 28. This payment is intended for SSDI beneficiaries who were born between the 21st and 31st of any month, reports Marca.

However, the amount can vary depending on the applicant's work history and previous income. But in 2025 it can be up to $5,108 per month for those who qualify for maximum benefits.

Does 2025 COLA affect these payments?

The simple answer is Yes. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), introduced in January 2025, has boosted monthly SSDI payments. Tied directly to inflation, this increase is designed to help beneficiaries preserve their purchasing power—and it’s already reflected in current checks.

On August 28, SSDI recipients will receive their final payment of the month. Beneficiaries should double-check their payment dates and ensure their banking details are up to date with the SSA to avoid any delays or transfer issues.
