Trump team's leaked 'war plan' messages exposed as JD Vance and others blast 'pathetic, free-loading Europe'
The Trump administration is under scrutiny over alleged leaked war plan about Yemen strikes in a group chat in which a journalist was mistakenly added. In a group chat with senior government officials, US Vice President Vance allegedly expressed h...

US Vice President JD Vance reportedly said that he disliked “bailing Europe out again” when discussing Trump administration plans to bomb Houthi rebels
However, Trump Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has denied the allegations saying no war plan was discussed. Hegseth discredited Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg who claimed that he was mistakenly added to the group where the war plans were leaked. Apart from the massive breach, which the White House has not denied, the chats -- now viral -- revealed the true feelings of Trump officials about Europe.

JD Vance on 'pathetic Europe'
US Vice President JD Vance reportedly said that he disliked “bailing Europe out again” when discussing Trump administration plans to bomb Houthi rebels in a group chat featuring other administration officials.According to a new report from The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, he gained access to a group chat on Signal featuring Trump administration officials such as Vance and Pete Hegseth. In the group chat, officials talked about and went back and forth on details of attacks targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen, according to Goldberg’s reporting.
Goldberg reported that Vance said in the chat that he believed the strikes were “a mistake,” saying that 3 percent of U.S. trade moves through the Suez Canal, while 40 percent of European trade moves through the canal.

As the 'Houthi PC small group' on the messaging app started discussing the US war plan, JD Vance said he thought it was going to be a mistake. "3 percent of US trade runs through the suez. 40 percent of European trade does. There is a real risk that the public doesn't understand this or why it's necessary. The strongest reason to do this is, as POTUS said, to send a message."
"I am not sure the president is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now. There's a further risk that we see a moderate to severe spike in oil prices. I am willing to support the consensus of the team and keep these concerns to myself. But there is a strong argument for delaying this a month, doing the messaging work on why this matters, seeing where the economy is, etc." Hegseth replied to JD Vance and said he fully supported him.

'Hate bailing out Europe'
"If you think we should do it let's go. I just hate bailing Europe out again," JD Vance said. "VP: I fully share your loathing of European free-loading. It's PATHETIC. But Mike is correct, we are the only ones on the planet (on our side of the ledger) who can do this. Nobody else even close. Question is timing. I feel like now is as good a time as any, given POTUS directive to reopen shipping lanes. I think we should go; but POTUS still retains 24 hours of decision space," Hegseth said.ALSO READ: ‘This can’t be real’: How The Atlantic’s editor ended up in a private Trump admin war chat
“If you think we should do it let’s go. I just hate bailing Europe out again,” Vance reportedly said. Just two days before the attacks in Yemen, President Trump made a threat to place a 200 percent tariff on wine, Champagne and other alcohol coming in via Europe in the case of the European Union not removing a tariff on whiskey.
“If this Tariff is not removed immediately, the U.S. will shortly place a 200% Tariff on all WINES, CHAMPAGNES, & ALCOHOLIC PRODUCTS COMING OUT OF FRANCE AND OTHER E.U. REPRESENTED COUNTRIES. This will be great for the Wine and Champagne businesses in the U.S.,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform at the time.
