Lady Gaga, Musk's friend Katy Perry lend star power to Kamala Harris. Can it power her to White House?

If star-power and celebrity endorsement could swing the US Presidential elections 2024, Kamala Harris may well have it in the bag. In a dazzling display of celebrity support, Lady Gaga announced her official presidential endorsement on social media to Democratic-led Harris-Walz campaign. Just days ahead of the crucial November 5 presidential election, Lady Gaga urged her 57 million followers to "get ready to vote" soon after star-studded lineup for Kamala Harris' Monday rally in Philadelphia was revealed.

Lady Gaga is set to headline Kamala Harris' rally in Pennsylvania during Election Eve, as part of the final part of her and Tim Walz's campaign's last Get Out The Vote organizing effort, reported Variety.

The Philadelphia rally will showcase performances and speeches by various artists including DJ Cassidy, Fat Joe, Freeway, Just Blaze, Lady Gaga, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ricky Martin, The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Adam Blackstone, and Oprah Winfrey.

Sharing a video message on Instagram, Gaga said, “It's time to get ready to vote. I'll see you guys in Pennsylvania.” Although she didn't directly shout out the words in the clip, her post caption spelled out her political alignment as “HARRIS WALZ 2024!!,” leaving no doubt where she was headed. The “Bad Romance” songbird's official statement came ahead of Kamala Harris' Pittsburgh rally lineup announcement.


Lady Gaga will be appearing at one of two star-studded "Get Out the Vote" events in the state, according to Variety.

US election: Katy Perry endorses Kamala Harris

Katy Perry is all set to rock the stage at a Kamala Harris rally on Election Eve, just months after posing with a Tesla Cybertruck that Elon Musk apparently decided to gift her. Katy Perry and Elon Musk have shared a unique friendship, with Perry often expressing her fascination with Musk's ventures, especially SpaceX.

Perry joins a star-studded lineup that includes Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, Eminem, and more who have voiced their support for Kamala Harris.

According to reports, Katy Perry leads the lineup of the VP’s Pittsburgh rally on the same day, where she will perform alongside D-Nice and Andra Dey. This day will also feature campaign activities in key swing states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

US election: Kamala Harris gets huge Hollywood support

Kamala Harris will attend both the events to make a final appeal to her voters. The Vice President has been drawing massive star power to her various rallies across the country. Last week, Beyonce and Willie Nelson joined her in Houston, while Bruce Springsteen appeared at events in Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Since launching her presidential campaign in July, Harris has gained endorsements from over 200 prominent figures in the film and entertainment industry. Over the weekend, singers Demi Lovato, Chapel Roan, Selena Gomez revealed that they were voting for Harris. 'Avengers' actors Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany and several other stars got together for the first time since 'Avengers: Endgame', to participate in a video promoting Kamala as the next US President.

Democrats have long enjoyed a celebrity advantage and used it to close out presidential campaigns when attention and energy are critical.

None of this is guaranteed to power Harris to the White House. But after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala, there was a massive uptick in voter registration among young people after Taylor Swift's endorsement. Harris herself has repeatedly urged supporters to take nothing for granted and said she her side is the "underdog" in the race.
