Trump shares AI-video of Gaza transformation, showcasing his golden statue with "will set you free" song
Former US President Donald Trump has drawn criticism after posting an AI-generated video on Truth Social, portraying Gaza as a luxury destination. The video, reported by CNN, presents a vision of Gaza as a resort owned by the US, following the expulsion of 2.1 million Palestinians. It includes a golden statue of Trump, Elon Musk dancing while eating hummus, and American and Israeli leaders relaxing on a beach.

Trump's Gaza AI-generated video

The video starts with Palestinian children walking through the rubble of Gaza before transitioning to a futuristic skyline along the coast. A title card asks, “What’s next?” A voice in the background sings, “No more tunnels, no more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here!” The video also includes bearded and bikini-clad belly dancers, a child holding a golden balloon shaped like Trump’s head, and Musk dancing under a shower of US dollars. It ends with Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping drinks on a beach.

International condemnation of the proposal

CNN reported that Trump has proposed expelling Palestinians from Gaza and transforming it into a resort under US ownership. The West Bank-based Palestinian Authority has condemned the plan, calling it a violation of international law. Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shaheen referenced historical displacement, stating: “We have tried displacement before, and it will not happen again.”

Hamas and Arab leaders respond

Gaza’s Hamas-run Government Media Office denounced the video. CNN quoted Gaza Director-General Ismail Al-Thawabtah as saying, “This video and its degrading content reflect the deeply rooted racist colonial mindset that seeks to distort reality and justify the occupation’s crimes.” He added that the portrayal seeks to legitimize what he called “ethnic cleansing” with American support.

Arab leaders met in Riyadh on Friday to discuss a response to Trump’s proposal, with a follow-up meeting scheduled in Cairo on March 4. According to CNN, they may present their stance to Trump at a later date.

Unclear whether Trump will act on the plan

It remains uncertain if Trump intends to pursue the proposal. Netanyahu has rejected an independent Palestinian state and endorsed Trump’s idea of US ownership of Gaza, CNN reported.
