Trump claims to have a 'secret sonic weapon' used during the US raid on Venezuela President Maduro
Donald Trump has claimed that the United States used what he called a 'secret sonic weapon' to capture Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro that 'nobody else' had.

In an interview with NewsNation, Trump spoke of the US military possessing a secret sonic weapon it had used during its capture of Maduro. He claimed that "nobody else" had the weapon, ‌which was used when Washington seized Maduro earlier this month.

He further added that the US was in possession of certain weapons that nobody else is even aware of.

The US President did not provide any details about the mysterious weapon used to capture Maduro on January 3. During the interview, Trump said it's probably best not to get into the details of its features.

On the NewsNation programme, Katie Pavlich Tonight, Trump agreed to the question on whether Americans should be concerned about the powers of the so-called secret sonic weapon, saying 'Well, yeah.'

"It's something I don't wanna ... nobody else has it. But we have weapons nobody else knows about. And, I say it's probably good not to talk about it, but we have some amazing weapons," Trump said.

On the US raid on Venezuela, Trump said, "That was an amazing attack."

The Trump administration accused Maduro of trafficking drugs into the US, a claim that has widely been rejected by Caracas.

Hours after the raid, Venezuela's interior minister said the assault on Maduro's compound left at least 100 people dead. However, it is not clear whether the deaths were linked to the usage of the above mentioned secret sonic weapon.

Russia seeks 'more clarity'

With questions mounting over the secret sonic weapon's details, Russia has called on the US to provide details about the device. The ‍Kremlin has demanded more clarity on what ‌Trump meant when he spoke ‌of the US possessing the weapon.
